Job Description

The Network Security Engineer at The Firm will be instrumental in strengthening our network infrastructure against evolving threats, implementing robust security measures, and supporting our overall cybersecurity resilience. This role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining secure network systems to protect our digital assets and operations from emerging cyber risks. The engineer will spearhead strategic security initiatives to safeguard our data and services, working closely with various teams to seamlessly integrate security into our processes, technologies, and organizational culture. This position requires a deep understanding of network security principles, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to navigate complex technical environments. The individual will maintain a high level of accountability to consistently deliver mission-critical results in line with the rigorous standards of leading financial institutions.

Compensation: 190,000-220,000 base + 15% bonus

Logistics: 100% Remote in the US

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Deploy and configure Cisco security appliances, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and Zscaler infrastructure to strengthen the organization's network security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the business and technological needs of diverse application infrastructures across cloud, on-premise, and SaaS environments, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
• Identify areas for improvement in security processes, policies, and technologies, and drive initiatives to enhance security effectiveness.
• Deploy and maintain various security technologies, including intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and web application firewalls (WAF), while providing engineering support to network detection and response solutions.
• Implement and manage network security monitoring tools for real-time threat detection and response.
• Optimize security configurations to support specific business performance needs while maintaining resilience against emerging threats.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline security testing, validation processes, and routine tasks.
• Stay current with new and evolving security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
• Assume responsibility for projects, propose innovative solutions, and actively guide them to successful completion.

Here's what you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in information security, with a focus on network security, including firewall and secure perimeter technologies.
• Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of industry security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS, MITRE ATT&CK).
• Experience with a broad range of security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, CASB, CSPM, EDR, IDS/IPS, DLP, WAF).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Shell.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams.
• Experience with cloud-native networking and security solutions in Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.
• Solid knowledge and experience with modern container orchestration technologies.
• Experience with modern Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Creativity and critical thinking with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to serve as a mentor or subject matter expert to other members within the organization.
